The tableware we designed hit Bloomingdale's "Hot List" in their most recent catalog! We're super excited with both the top right spread (our design is the bottom plate) and the bottom left spread that features our complete collection! The bottom right corner is a shot I took in Bloomingdales' 59th street store! If you see these in your local Bloomies or end up using these at your next get together, please send us a pic! 

My friend Stacey saw our iPhone cases the other day in the AT&T store at the bottom of the Empire State Building! So fun! I thought I would share one of the displays. She asked the manager how they were selling and he said they were selling really really well! Great everyday cases...check out our Brejer cases on the top row- the Blue Dot and the Pink Dot designs! They're available in AT&T stores nationwide as well as online.

Our mixed gift bags are the furthest to the left! They turned out beautifully!

 We're very happy with how our designs turned out. Madison Park Greetings did an excellent job in showcasing our designs! We'll post more samples later this week!

I just took a look at Robert Kaufman's site and we're highlighted on their home page! 

Our "Mission View" collection just came out in fabric with Robert Kaufman! It debuted at the Quilt Market in Houston, Texas this past October and received a great response! We received a huge and very heavy box from RK in December...It felt like Christmas just opening it up and seeing yards and yards of our fabric in red, blue, and pink color ways. Our line turned out beautiful! We couldn't be happier with it! It has been so exciting to see our designs come to life. We're looking forward to displaying our patterns on bags, pillow, throws, etc and will be posting each on the blog when they're completed. Look for our fabric at independent quilt shops nationwide in the next month or so! If the store doesn't carry it yet, let the store owner know about Brejer and that they can order this collection through Robert Kaufman! 

Hawaii truely is paradise.  Endless beaches, endless amounts of shave ice each day at Waiola's, endless time visiting with Grandpa Z and family, and endless fresh fruit and days soaking up the sun.  We had fun celebrating K's first birthday with family, spearfishing with Uncle Jimmy, picnicing with family in Kahala, trick or treating as pirates around Manoa, visiting the Polynesian Culture Center in Laie with my parents and sister who happened to come into Oahu for the day from their cruise (perfect timing!), eating our favorite Chocolate Haupia pie from Ted's Bakery, swimming at beautiful Waimea Bay, and checking out surf competitions along the North Shore.  We miss you Hawaii...but don't worry, we'll be back!

Our iPhone cases are now available in AT&T stores nationwide and on their online store!  Many thanks to our friends at Speck.  We're so happy with how they've turned out!  If you don't have a Speck case for your iPhone I highly recommend their cases because of their great quality and durability.  Needless to say I've dropped my iPhone one too many times, but fortunately their cases really have protected my phone each time without a scratch. We took the long journey from NYC out to Hawaii this past week to visit with Jeremiah's family on the island of Oahu.  Since we had never been to Kauai before, but had heard many great reviews on it, we decided to take a mini trip out there and visit for a few days.  We spent 4 beautiful days on the North Shore in Princeville, Kauai. We loved how secluded and untouched this island is. The highlights of our trip were hiking along the Na Pali Coast, spending the afternoons at the picturesque Hanalei Bay, driving through the taro fields, and finding beautiful seashells along Tunnels Beach. It was especially fun seeing life through Kenna's eyes...she loved swimming in the water with us, covering herself in the sand (and eating it!), holding her first lizard Jeremiah caught for her along the Na Pali coast, and riding alongside us babbling away in the backpack we carried her in.  

I ran my first marathon last Saturday in Hartford, CT 11 months after the birth of our little girl.  My goal was to qualify for the Olympic Trials and run a sub 2:46 marathon time.  I trained hard for this race and felt great leading up to the race with my training runs.  Unfortunately, the morning of the marathon I woke up with severe stomach pain which left me unable to eat or drink.  I didn't know how I'd be able to run when I felt I couldn't really even move that morning or get the essential fuel inside of me...However in my mind it wasn't an option for me not to run and so I just prayed that I could get through the race as best as I could.  I got to the starting line and just told myself that I could do it. 

I was running on pace (6:19 min/mile pace) with a little discomfort for about 16 miles of the race (adrenaline had definitely kicked in at the start of the race) and I felt I could hit my goal time of 2:45.  But then my stomach started to really cramp up more and more and I fell off pace.  I was in a lot of pain those last 10 miles and finished in 5th place overall at 2:54.  I passed out at the finish line and was taken to the hospital for the intense pain in my stomach.  This definitely wasn't the kind of race I was planning on running however I was grateful for the strength I was given to get to the start of the race and also for the power I was given to finish. I thought of all the people who were cheering and supporting me - those on the course and those back at home...of all of the notes, calls, emails, prayers, and letters that I received. I thought of all the long 18-22 mile Monday runs that I had had along the Hudson River with Jeremiah biking alongside me, all the beautiful sunrises and sunsets I witnessed, my first run back 6 weeks after giving birth panting out of breath and thinking how could I ever get back in shape again but believing in that little voice inside of me that I could, all the hard mile repeats I had in Central Park, all the early mornings getting up even though sleep sounded so much better at 6am, the feelings of accomplishment after a tough workout, my first race back running post-pregnancy seeing my baby girl on Jeremiah's shoulders cheering for me in the pouring rain...these are the moments that propelled me forward.  In the end, as cliche as it may sound, it really is about the journey and I'm grateful for the great and memorable experiences I was able to have and for the confidence, love, and support I felt through it all. Thanks to all of you for your support...and yes- I will be BACK for another marathon! And I will hit my goal time if not faster!
